Firefox quit opening a new tab when I open a new tab. This overwrites the page I was on. I have to open the history to try and find where I was. This is very frustrating and a waste of time. It stated recently.

As of Aug 23rd, Firefox no longer connects to the internet (not site-specific) with this message: Unable to Connect. All other browsers work with fast loads. FF has been incredibly slow loading pages for weeks now but it would eventually connect until today. It is not a network/firewall issue as I've checked to make sure all was set correctly. I have cleared cache, turned VPN off, refreshed app, uninstalled/reinstalled and nothing has changed.

If I find the same tomorrow, I will just have to stop using altogether and choose another default browser as there is no point in a browser that is slow and unreliable. It's a shame since I've been using FF for many, many years.

Upon a Windows forced restart closing Firefox, all of my current session tabs were closed. Upon opening Firefox once again, during which it updated, Recently Closed Windows and Tabs are both dark, preventing me from restoring my previous session.

Because of this issue, I need to try and recover my previous session by scanning through the search history to find the tabs that matter to me.

Open Application Menu(three bars) > History > Manage History

This is the only way to view the complete history in some sort of chronological order. Recent History does not go back far enough and Search History is useless in this case.

Focused on "Today", double clicking a website opens it in the current tab, which surprised me. I would think that default behavior would be opening it in a new tab, but alright. I'll right click and specify open in a new tab from now on.

I scroll down, find a website, right click, and open it in a new tab. This action removes the website from it's current position in the chronological order to put it at the very top. If you had scroll down, you are now back at the very top of the list again.

This same behavior does not occur in the "Yesterday" submenu or previous months like "July", however, in the "Last 7 days" and "This Month" submenu, this behavior occurs.

All in all, this means that the chronological order of the history is not preserved and my task of restoring my previous session manually is made more frustrating by having to scroll down where I was from the top after opening each website I want to recover.

Please just "copy" what Google Chrome does, I've never had an issue with their history implementations or my previous sessions being unrecoverable. I'll be figuring out some plugin to use to resolve my previous session issue in the mean time, as I've accepted it as a bad quirk of Firefox.

The history under Firefox View almost fixes the history problems I have, to bad it's hidden under two unrelated submenus, "List All Tabs" > "View All Tabs", so no reasonable person can actually find it. I only found it after writing this up. Put that in the history section please, something like.

Open Application Menu(three bars) > History > Browse History

I used firefox troubleshoot mode to see if the problem is caused by an extension etc. But my tabs were still crashing, this time, firefox as a whole crashed. Sometimes a tab crashes, and sometimes firefox crashes. I tried to troubleshoot with an llm, it said that i don´t have enough RAM, i have 8Gb, but its shared between RAM and VRAM. I was on fedora before, the problem occurred there so i switched to mint with the thought that mint is more lightweight so it should have more RAM available for tabs. But that wasn´t the case. Sometimes i only have 1 tab open, nothing else on firefox and on my laptop open at that time, but the tab still crashes.

I hope i´ve provided enough information, if not, let me know what your missing to fix and i hope i can provide it :)

Longtime Firefox user, Lenovo desktop, Windows 10 user, have Firefox version 154. Can log into my microsoft M365 account, but whan I click on "Search", my files do not appear. Box appears saying "No Recent Items" in place of my list of files.

Why is about:home is completely blank? Updating to Firefox 153.03Beta made it all disappear. Must I reinstall Windows-XI for this user-interface not loading anything that has been updated on Firefox 155.03Beta? I will attempt an optimization and see if that does anything. If it does, I will close this; but if not, it is quite some new bug.

Right after updating Firefox to 155.03Beta, bookmarks, history, and synchronized tabs are completely empty on the sidebar. No data, at all, except for AI Chatbot's xml's. Didn't downloads once appear on the sidebar, too, by option? You have to go to Tabs and Browsing >> Browser Layout and select Show Sidebar to customize any of it. Library (Downloads and History) will not even show nor import anything. Not only this, but the new appearance of the sidebar is different, and about:preferences (settings) does not show their page titles, anymore, but only their icons. Settings tried to load when first opened, but it failed to name them. Is there some configured file and/or data on the beta that will not let each of these names and icons appear properly?

I have two installations of Firefox on a desktop and a laptop. The first installation is pinned to the Windows toolbar and the 2nd installation has a shortcut pinned to Windows Start.

When I saw that the latest update of Firefox to 154 allowed changing icons, I changed the 2nd installation to a different Firefox icon (mini-fox with black background) so it was easy to see which installation to use when both were open.

The problem is the changed icon for the shortcut is wrong after shutting down the computers. I do not recall having this problem with the 1st installation or on my 2nd laptop where I only have one installation of Firefox.

I suspect this is just a glitch that will likely be fixed in a future update, but it is annoying to have to go through the process of changing the icon every time I startup a computer. If anyone has found a solution for this, I would very much appreciate your help.

The option for showing or hiding recommended stories is missing from my settings, and there are no recommended stories showing on my browser home page when clicking new tab.

Can not any longer control Trendnet PTZ security cameras thru Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Browser - seeking help have 16 Trendnet cameras - it will cast a lot of $$ to replace them IE explorer compatibility is desired.

The Address / Profile Autofill (full-form, 1-click filling) all of a sudden stopped working a few days ago. Only single-form works. I have to go to each box on a form individually and click on it to have the info fill in (Never had to do that before). And the "History" icon is showing to the left side of every info of mine that i click on to fill in (Never seen that before). Everything in the settings is still the same, nothing on my end has changed. It's set to automatically fill in my Name, Address, E-mail, Phone Number in 1-click, like it has THOUSANDS OF TIMES BEFORE. All my info is showing in settings, but not on any forms on any websites. The same websites i've been using all along, that filled in ALL my info with 1 click, all of a sudden went to single individual form last week. I asked AI what the problem could be. It gave me a few suggestions and fixes. Tried all of them, made no difference. All the settings it had me check were correct. HELP! (Thank you)

I'd like to subscribe and pay for Mozilla VPN on a PC and Android phone, but, don't want to initiate and pay for the subscription via Google Play. I'd rather manage the subscription for the service via a browser based interface on a PC, but, it seems like this is not currently possible. Is that the case?

I see someone else has already asked similary: Mozilla VPN availability on F-Droid would also be a plus.

how the fuck do I turn off enhanced tracking protection because it's breaking everything? I need my security and this is actively preventing me from acquiring the necessary security apps and accounts I need. This is actively making me less safe. It also won't let me get a different browser
